There is no single answer to this question and pages that give one are wrong for about half the people who ask it. Age counts completed birthdays, so everyone born in 1995 spends part of 2026 at 30 and the rest at 31. A birth year of 1995 places you in the Millennials.

Why the answer is a pair
Age in the US and almost everywhere else is age at last birthday: you are 30 until the day you turn 31, and then you are 31 for a year. Subtracting 1995 from 2026 gives 31, which is only right for the people whose birthday has already gone. For everyone else it is a year too high, and for anyone born on 31 December it is a year too high for all but one day of the year.
